The Texas State Penal Code states that the crime of homicide like the one Abraham Anzaldúa is charged with is punishable by a sentence of 20 to 99 years in prison.

The Homicide Division of the Corpus Christi Police Department (CCPD) is nvestigating the murder of Mary Anzaldúa.

The U.S. Marshals had to intervene in the arrest of Abraham Anzaldúa, since they are specialized in capturing dangerous fugitives.

The arrest warrant for Abraham Anzaldua describes the shocking murder of Mary Anzaldúa.

On the afternoon of Monday, February 12, 2024, 911 received a call about a fire at Mary Anzaldúa’s house.

The Corpus Christi Fire Department (CCFD) responded to 2700 Camargo Drive.

After firefighters put out the flames, they found a woman’s body.

At first they thought she had died of smoke inhalation.

However, when the paramedics examined the body they realized that Mary Anzaldúa had been shot to death.

All the alarms went off for the authorities after what began as a routine fire turned into a murder investigation.

CCPD detectives discovered several details that led them to identify Abraham Anzaldúa as the murderer.

According to some witnesses and neighbors, Anzaldúa had left the house in his truck moments before the fire started.

Based on that, and other forensic evidence, police issued and arrest warrant for Abraham Anzaldúa for the murder of his mother Mary Anzaldúa.

All Texas police departments were on high alert after his image was released.

On the night of last Thursday, February 15, 2024, some people recognized Abraham Anzaldúa in his truck outside a gas station.

Witnesses reported the fugitive’s presence to the San Patricio County Sheriff’s Office (SPCSO) who in turn called the U.S. Marshals.

Several federal and SPCSO officers went to the scene and arrested Abraham Anzaldúa for his mother’s murder.

Paula Jennings, Mary Anzaldúa’s niece, started a GoFundMe campaign to pay for her funeral.

«It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the loss of our beloved family member Alicia Anzaldua,» Paula Jennings wrote, pleading for help covering Mary Anzaldúa’s funeral expenses.

«Alicia was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of those around her,» Paula Jennings wrote in the description for Help pay for funeral expenses for Alicia.

«We are absolutely devastated by Alicia’s tragic and unexpected passing…» she continued.

«My aunt was taken from us in a way no family should ever have to experience or endure,» she concludes.
