Real Kosher Ice Cream, a popular brand of ice cream based in Brooklyn, NY, has announced a recall of two ice cream products.

These are On The Go soft ice cream and sorbet cups which were recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

This recall was issued after one person became ill and reported having eaten Real Kosher Ice Cream.

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture conducted extensive analyzes of samples of the ice cream in question, raising alarms.

The results revealed the presence of Listeria in one of the samples, which triggered the recall by Real Kosher Ice Cream.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that can cause serious health problems in anyone who consumes it.

Since the initial recall, two additional cases of illness related to this possible contamination have been reported.

The cases have been documented in New York State and Pennsylvania.

In both cases, those affected had consumed the products before becoming ill.

Fortunately, both individuals were hospitalized in a timely manner and are expected to recover.

To date, no deaths have been reported in connection with this outbreak.

Health authorities are urging consumers who have purchased On The Go ice cream and sorbet cups to return them immediately to the place of purchase.

Consumers who are experiencing symptoms after consuming these products are advised to seek medical attention immediately.

The symptoms that may occur after consuming this product are fever, muscle aches, nausea and diarrhea.

It is worth recalled ice cream was sold through canteens, supermarkets, convenience stores and other outlets.

The On the Go cups were distributed in the states of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington DC, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland among others.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that causes particular concern due to its ability to survive and multiply at refrigerated temperatures.

This means that even products stored under the right conditions can harbor this bacteria if they are contaminated.

Symptoms of Listeria infection can appear up to several weeks after exposure, making it even more important to be vigilant and aware of potential symptoms.

Real Kosher Ice Cream is working closely with health authorities and taking extensive steps to address the situation.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell bad, but can still cause serious and fatal infections.

Anyone who has eaten any recalled ice cream should seek medical treatment and inform their doctors of possible Listeria exposure.

Additionally, anyone who has eaten any of the recalled products should be monitored for symptoms over the next few weeks.

Because it can take up to 70 days after exposure to Listeria for symptoms of listeriosis to develop, according to Food Safety News.
