However, this year, the remembrance of the Diva de la Banda is overshadowed by familial discord.

The rift began when Rosa Saavedra, Jenni Rivera’s mother, implied that her grandchildren — Johnny and Jenicka — lack the same level of work commitment as the rest of the dynasty.

Subsequently, Chiquis Rivera made a pointed statement directed at her grandparents and relatives, sparking controversy.

“Pedro, the singer’s father, taught all his children to work hard. They are all very industrious,” said Rosa Saavedra.

“Jenni’s children, especially the older ones like Chiquis and Jacqie, have also proven to be very hardworking,” the mother of the late singer added.

“But not everyone turns out the same. Just like the fingers on a hand are not identical,” Rosa Saavedra commented in a video on her YouTube channel.

Following these statements, many of Jenni Rivera’s fans speculated on social media that Mrs. Rosa was referring to La Diva de la Banda’s youngest children.

Chaos in the Rivera family

At no point did Mrs. Rosa specifically mention the Diva de la Banda’s younger children.

However, after singling out the good qualities of Chiquis, Jacqie and Michael, it was notable that she left out Johnny and Jenicka.

Consequently, many interpreted her remark about ‘the fingers of the hand not being equal’ as a subtle critique of Johnny and Jenicka’s work ethic.

This controversy quickly spread across social media and eventually came to the attention of Chiquis Rivera herself.

Chiquis defends her brothers

Following the controversy, Chiquis Rivera, also known as the ‘Queen Bee,’ delivered a powerful message to her relatives during a concert.

“I am very disappointed in certain individuals who claim to be, who say they love my mother,” Chiquis began.

“They know very well that in all her interviews, in her book, and everywhere, she always emphasized that she worked for her children,” the singer remarked.

“She worked not for her sister, not for her brother, not for her mother, not for her father,” she concluded on stage.

But the story doesn’t end there; last Wednesday, Chiquis took described a disturbing premonition she had.

This statement stirred controversy on social media.

“I feel in my heart that I must write this down… I have only spoken what my heart feels, from MY perspective,” he posted.

“But let me make it clear, if something happens to me, you’ll know where it came from,” Jenni Rivera’s eldest daughter said in the post.

She won’t give up

On the same day she expressed her concerns, she also shared additional tweets addressing the issue.

“But I won’t be brought down… because my God is more powerful!” Chiquis said in another post.

However, the tension escalated when she made another comment, which many believed was aimed at her aunt Rosie Rivera.

“I’m telling you, that ‘poor thing’ attitude won’t lead you anywhere good,” she wrote in her post.

Fans defend her

Chiquis’ fans rallied to her defense on X, directing their criticism at Juan Rivera.

“I’m sorry for what you’re going through, especially with the audios where that malicious person is threatening both you and Jacqie,” one person wrote.

“They were just looking for a shoulder to lean on, but the other person saw it as an opportunity to record material for blackmail,” another commented.
