Officials from the Attorney General’s Office in Mexico arrested lawyer Juan Collado in July 2019.

Yadhira Carrillo’s husband, who was also married to actress Leticia Calderón, was cleared of some charges by a judge’s order earlier this month.

However he still faces some other charges.

According to AS, Juan Collado was the lawyer for two Mexican presidents — Carlos Salinas de Gortari and Enrique Peña Nieto.

As mentioned earlier, he was married to Leticia Calderón, with whom he had two children, Luciano and Carlo Collado.

In the midst of his divorce from the actress, he began a relationship with Yadhira Carrillo, whom he finally married in a lavish celebration in 2012

During the time her husband was in prison, Yadhira supported him at all times, although she did not escape criticism.

Juan Collado is in poor health

In September 2023, it was announced that Juan Collado was granted provisional release from prison.

However, it was also reported that the lawyer received medical attention and had to be have a catheter placed— but what happened to him?

His family revealed that Yadhira Carrillo’s husband suffers from arterial obstruction that puts his life at risk.

As part of the restrictions imposed on him, he was not allowed to leave the country and will have to wear an ankle bracelet.

He suffered something similar to a stroke

According to El Financiero, Juan Collado was diagnosed with episodes of angina, as well as systemic arterial hypertension.

He also has a triple-vessel coronary disease which can be life threatening.

The National Institute of Cardiology in Mexico informed the lawyer’s family that he suffered a transient ischemic attack.

In layman’s terms, that is similar to a stroke, so he needs to be monitored.

Why was Juan Collado arrested?

As mentioned earlier, Yadhira Carrillo’s husband was arrested in 2019 and immediately confined at the Reclusorio Norte in Mexico City.

Why was Juan Collado arrested? He was accused of organized crime and using illegally obtained funds.

To make matters worse, he was also accused of tax fraud amounting to more than $2 million.

He spent four years in prison, although the Prosecutor’s Office requested that he spend from 36 to 38 years in prison and make a compensatory payment of $10 million.

‘You start to feel again’

After it was reported that Juan Collado would be granted conditional release, his wife gave a revealing interview.

According to ¡Hola!, Yadhira Carrillo talked to Despierta América.

«Speechless, your voice breaks, you start to feel again, because what you do is everything not to feel,» she said about her husband’s release.

Finally, the actress said that little by little her heart began to relax. She couldn’t help but cry.
