From virtually all fronts, the US and its President Joe Biden are closing the doors to Chinese cars.
Firstly, a manufacturing trade group from this country asked the president to take whatever measures he deems necessary.
The main request is to block the importation of vehicles from low-cost Chinese manufacturers from Mexico.

According to information from the Motor Pasión portal, it was recently announced that BYD plans to establish a manufacturing plant in Mexico.
BYD Auto is an automotive subsidiary of the Chinese multinational company BYD Co Ltd, headquartered in Xi’an, Shaanxi province.
Samuel García, governor of the state of Nuevo León, recently met with Stella Li, CEO of BYD for Latin America.
At this meeting, the plans this company has for Nuevo León and Mexico in general were revealed.
Is Joe Biden Against Chinese Cars?
According to the Motor Pasión portal, Joe Biden instructed the Secretary of Commerce regarding Chinese cars.
The president requested an investigation into these vehicles equipped with Chinese and other «concerning countries» technology.
«China is determined to dominate the future of the automotive market, even through unfair practices,» Biden said.
The president also mentioned that China is about to flood US roads with cars that could pose a risk to national security.
Is the President Right?
«Chinese connected vehicles could collect confidential data about our citizens and our infrastructure,» Biden said.
Furthermore, the US president said that this data could be sent back to the People’s Republic of China.
«These Chinese cars could be accessed remotely or deactivated,» added Joe Biden, who recalled that China imposes restrictions on its manufacturers.
«Why should Chinese connected vehicles be allowed to operate in our country without safeguards?» the president concluded.
Biden Remains «Fit for Office»
On the other hand, Dr. Kevin O’Connor stated that President Joe Biden remains fit for office after his annual physical examination.
According to Associated Press information, a six-page memorandum was written about the president’s health.
«President Biden is a healthy, active, and robust 81-year-old man who remains fit to successfully execute the responsibilities of the presidency.»
For over two and a half hours, he underwent this check-up at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Despite popular belief, they say there’s nothing to worry about.

Finally, it’s worth noting that Joe Biden would turn 86 at the end of a second term, should he win it.
According to Associated Press, following his most recent previous examination (February 2023), doctors declared Biden «healthy, vigorous,» and «fit.»
But voters are wary of the president’s age, scrutinizing his slips, his cough, his slow gait, and even a fall from his bicycle.
Lastly, upon his return to the White House, he attended an event on combating crime and hinted that, in his health, «there’s nothing different from last year.»
