According to the EFE news agency, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Bryan Boyton stated that Texas legislation contradicts the country’s laws.

This law, known as SB4, was passed by the Republican-controlled State Legislature and signed by Governor Greg Abbott in December.

It has drawn criticism due to its harshness and potentially overstepping state bounds.

Governor Abbott responded via social media, defending the measure as an attempt to maintain the rule of law in the United States.

Abbott accused the Biden administration of not enforcing current U.S. laws and also obstructing Texas’ efforts to stop illegal migration.

«The Biden Administration not only refuses to enforce current U.S. immigration laws, they now want to stop Texas from enforcing laws against illegal immigration,» the Republican governor wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The SB4 law makes crossing the U.S. border into Texas a misdemeanor, which becomes a serious crime, with penalties of up to 20 years in prison, if it is done repeatedly.

This approach would affect those who try to cross the border in search of asylum, making their legal situation even more complicated.

Abbott’s «Operation Lone Star» has come under fire due to the some of the harsh measures implemented to restrict the flow of migrants across the border with Mexico.

Texas has installed floating barriers in the Rio Grande that are covered with barbed wire. These actions have created tension with the federal government.

So far this year, more than 2 million “encounters” with migrants have been recorded on the U.S. southern border. Most were arrests of people who tried to cross irregularly.

This unprecedented increase in migration to the United States is attributed to the search for better economic opportunities and various social and political crises in Latin American countries.

The confrontation between Texas and the federal government reflects a deep disagreement over immigration policies.

While Texas seeks to reinforce its borders with severe measures, the United States government seeks to protect the rights of migrants.

The U.S. also seeks to maintain a more compassionate approach to managing migration to the country.

Tensions between Texas and the U.S. government as reached a critical point.

The tensions have plunged both sides into a legal confrontation that raises questions about the future of migratory policies in the U.S.

This debate, created by Texas law SB4 has generated uncertainty about how it will be enforced and the consequences it could have on immigration in that region.

The fight between the state of Texas and the U.S. federal government reflects a deep ideological division and approach to the management of immigration.

While Abbott supports greater control measures at the borders, the U.S. government advocates for policies that guarantee respect for the rights of migrants.
