According to the EFE news agency, U.S. Deputy Attorney General Bryan Boyton stated that Texas legislation contradicts the country’s laws.

The SB4 law makes crossing the U.S. border into Texas a misdemeanor, which becomes a serious crime, with penalties of up to 20 years in prison, if it is done repeatedly.

This approach would affect those who try to cross the border in search of asylum, making their legal situation even more complicated.
