The Toyota Prius Prime SE, a plug-in hybrid, is the most eco-friendly vehicle in the United States.
This was declared on Wednesday, March 13, by the non-profit organization American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).

Toyota placed two other vehicles among the top six most eco-friendly according to ACEEE: the electric bZ4X and the plug-in hybrid RAV4 Prime (places 5 and 6).

The Lexus RZ 300e, Mini Cooper SE, and Nissan Leaf electric cars occupied the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
ACEEE explained that the Toyota Prius Prime SE, which scored 71 points, has the lowest annual fuel cost, $529.
More than half of the list of the 12 most eco-friendly vehicles is composed of cars with starting prices below $35,000.
In 2023, the average prices of all electric vehicles in the US dropped by 18 percent, according to information from Efe.
Electric vehicle sales increased by 46%
At the same time, electric vehicle sales increased by 46 percent and reached 1.2 million units last year.
Peter Huether, in charge of ACEEE’s list of the most eco-friendly vehicles, highlighted the following in a statement:

«Many options for efficient and affordable hybrids are available to drivers,» emphasized Huether.
What Is Toyota’s Cheapest Car?
As reported by Efe, the cheapest vehicle on the list of the most eco-friendly is the Toyota Corolla hybrid.
Its starting price is $23,500 with an estimated annual fuel cost of $944.
ACEEE also released its list of the 12 least eco-friendly vehicles.
The list is topped by the Mercedes-Benz AMG G63, a gasoline vehicle with an estimated annual fuel cost of $4,242.

According to information from the Motorpasión portal, the launch of the Toyota Prius 2024 took place in Japan under the slogan ‘Hybrid reborn’.
