Tragic news has shocked the entertainment industry.

Tony Ganios, known for his iconic role as Meat Tuperello in the movie Porky’s, has died at the age of 64.

The news was confirmed by his fiancée, Amanda, who revealed to TMZ that the actor passed away last Sunday in a New York hospital.

According to his fiancée, Ganios was admitted to the hospital on Saturday due to a serious spinal cord infection.

And although he underwent surgery, unfortunately he suffered a heart attack shortly after.

Amanda said that on his way to dialysis treatment Tony suffered cardiac arrest, coupled with organ failure, which resulted in his sudden death.

The news comes as a tough blow as the couple was planning their wedding after nine years together.

Amanda shared an emotional farewell to her fiancé on X.

«The last words we said to each other were ‘I love you.’ Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul, and my best friend. I love you Tony Ganios.”

«It’s just unreal to me right now. It was so fast. He hadn’t felt well and hid it from me for days,» she continued.

«When he finally told me and was taken to the hospital, his spinal cord was severely infected. They did surgery, next morning, his heart stopped. I’m crushed,» she concluded.

She took the time to respond to several comments and thanked people for their condolences, according to The U.S. Sun.

Ganios’ sudden death leaves Amanda absolutely devastated, and the film community mourns the loss of one of its most beloved talents.

Tony Ganios is best known for playing Meat Tuperello in the 1981 film Porky’s, which was a popular sex comedy that gained cult status over the years.

The film’s shower scene is remembered as one of the most iconic in the raunchy comedy genre.

Although Porky’s was his best-known film, Ganios also appeared in other films and memorable productions.

In 1979’s The Wanderers, he played the role of Perry. He also appeared in films like Back Roads, Continental Divide, Body Rock, Die Hard 2, Rising Sun and The Taking of Beverly Hills.

In addition to his success on the big screen, Tony Ganios appeared in television shows like The Ring of the Musketeers.

He also had roles in Wiseguy, The Equalizer and Scarecrow and Mrs. King, showing his versatility as an actor throughout his career.

The news of his death has generated great sadness in the entertainment industry, and fans are offering their condolences on social media.

«Sad to hear about the passing of Tony Ganios, also known as «Meat» from the 80’s Porky movies,» said another fan.
