  • Sueño millonario shares the story of José Juan Rumbera.
  • When he arrived in this country, he had nowhere to sleep.
  • He believes that helping people is important for personal growth.

The story of José Juan Rumbera begins when he arrived in Atlanta a couple of years ago. The moments he had to go through were difficult and overwhelming.

He recounts that when he was a child, there were times when he and his family had nothing to take to school or to buy food, and whenever he had the opportunity to have capital, he saved it.

This was because he wanted to save up to buy what would be an important first step, a plane ticket to get to the country, and it took him a year to gather the necessary amount.

In Mexico, his situation was very complicated for him and his family, but when he arrived in Atlanta, the situation became even more complicated for José, to the point that sometimes he had nowhere to sleep.

First Jobs

One of his earliest jobs he remembers was as a bricklayer in construction. This, he recalls, was too heavy, and he could only do it for two months.

As months went by, a neighbor mentioned that he could offer him a job. His neighbor worked with granite. José’s intention was to learn something new to have more tools.

While he was there, he was in charge of cleaning, but he was eager to learn how to use the machines that were in the construction job.

During his lunch hour, he asked for the possibility of using the machines, but his superior didn’t see it as appropriate and told him that he was there for cleaning and should focus on that, but Juan demonstrated what he was capable of with the machines.

After two years in that company, he learned to use the machinery better and also mastered the trade, and he had the idea of having something of his own.

Another detail that motivated him was that, despite working almost sixty hours a week, he earned very little. He says that even with that construction job, he couldn’t afford his rent.

He talked to his brother, and together they decided to start their own business to work with granite and marble materials that he had already been working with for some time and had learned well.

Over time, they prospered, and today they have three branches in the country. In addition to this, another brother also joined, and each of them is in charge of a branch of the company.

Before finishing, he shares that the company now makes almost six thousand kitchens a year and accepts different types of projects, not discriminating in terms of size, because they believe that everything should be respected.

At this point, they are not far from having another branch in another state. They emphasize that this is the result of the support and help of many people and that is why they have a philosophy of helping those who want to learn.

They are very aware that when a person wants to learn, helping them is the difference in discovering potential. One piece of advice they share is that if you’re going to have a business, it should be in something you know how to do.

Sueño millonario bids you farewell for now and hopes that the story of José Juan Rumbera has been to your liking and that you also join us to learn more stories like those of these brave humans.
