Southwark Coroners Court in London has officially determined the late Irish singer-songwriter’s cause of death.

According to reports, singer Sinéad O’Connor died of natural causes, ending the speculation surrounding her sudden passing.

According to Variety, the coroner’s office categorically confirmed that the singer died of natural causes at the age of 56.

This ends the ongoing investigation into her tragic death, which at first was thought to be suicide.

On July 26, the iconic voice behind ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ was discovered «unresponsive» at her home in London.

Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

The British police told Variety that there were no signs of suspicious activity and handed the case over to the coroner to determine exactly what caused her death.

In an official statement, O’Connor’s family expressed their sadness at the sad news of the beloved artist’s death in 2023.

In the statement, the Irish singer’s loved ones asked for understanding and respect for their privacy during this painful time.

That album included her version of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U,’ a song written by Prince and released under his side project, the Family.

The late singer had been open and frank about her decades-long battle with mental illness, according to Page Six.

She had been struggling since the tragic loss of her son 17-year-old son Shane in 2022, who died by suicide.
