The singer Ricky Martin has been accused of domestic violence in Puerto Rico by an alleged victim who is not his husband, multiple reports claim. It is mentioned that the person who made the accusations against Martin may be someone other than his spouse.

A judge has issued a restraining order against Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin, police said Saturday. The order was signed on Friday and authorities visited an upscale neighborhood in the north coast city of Dorado, where the singer lives, to try to enforce the order, police spokesman Axel Valencia said, according to Associated Press.

“So far, the police have not been able to find him,” Valencia said. Martin’s publicist did not immediately return a message requesting comment. It was not immediately known who requested the restraining order. Valencia said he couldn’t give more details because the order was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law.

El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper, said the order establishes that Martin and the other person dated for seven months. The report quotes the order as saying that they separated two months ago, but the petitioner says that Martin did not accept the separation and has been seen loitering near the person’s home at least three times.

“The petitioner fears for his safety,” El Vocero quoted the order as saying. No copy of the order has been released so far. Telemundo reports that the order was issued by Judge Raiza Cajigas Campbell that Martin has to stop communicating with the victim until the case is resolved.

So far no further details are known at this time about this controversial case. It should be remembered that the artist, Ricky Martin, has been married to the Swedish painter Jwan Yosef since 2017. Given this, Valencia said that the order prohibits Martin from contacting or calling the person who filed it and that a judge will determine later in a hearing if the order should be upheld or lifted. He added that orders usually run for at least a month.
