A family experienced moments of horror a when a mother killed her young son just outside her house. The authorities are investigating, according to witnesses who confirmed to the police what happened outside a home in Port Cook in Melbourne, Australia. The community is in mourning, according to The Sun.

A normal, quiet day became a terrible nightmare for a woman and her family. The mom never imagined that she herself was going to end the life of her two-year-old child — much less in the way the incident happened.

It is an incredible story, something that almost never happens … the death of a child is traumatic, but even more so if a mother is responsible for the death of her own son at only two years old. Police are investigating.

According to The Sun, the incident took place on Saturday around three in the afternoon, when the mother was preparing to leave her house. She never imagined that the terrible pain she was about to experience.

HOW DID THE MOTHER KILL HER SON?

The family and some neighbors who saw the entire tragedy immediately called emergency services. However, the little boy did not survive and died as a result of the serious injuries he suffered after the terrible accident.

The investigation determined that the woman ran over her 2-year-old baby with her car, when she was backing out of the driveway. She ran over him without realizing it so that is where the real pain began for a mother who killed her own child.

The police have said that since it appears to be an accident, they may not press charges against her, and the neighbors explain what happened to the Daily Mail Australia: “I observed (the mother) and that is what hit me the most, seeing her pain really affected me. SIMILAR TRAGEDY

This tragedy is reminiscent of something that happened a couple of years ago in Perth, Western Australia, when another child was killed in the same way by his mother. Here, too, the neighbors heard heartbreaking cries from her, after realizing what had happened. This mother also was backing out of the driveway and didn’t see her child.

At the time, Scott Phillip, Executive Director of the child accident and injury prevention organization KidSafe WA, commented: “This is a terrible tragedy.
