The news of the 78 year-old artist’s death was released on Saturday. He died in a hospital in Jerez de la Frontera, where he had been for some time due to serious health problems, according to SER.

According to a Tweet posted by the mayor of Sanlucar, Víctor Mora, three days of national mourning were established and he declared that the flag will fly at half-staff in the city hall buildings. The reason for this honor is because Manolo Sanlúcar became one of the main exponents of flamenco music and ambassador of the town.
