Chronicle: Mother and daughter prostitutes busted together

• Authorities arrested mother and daughter prostitutes.

Whether people like it or not, in Georgia and in most of the country, prostitution is illegal and both the prostitutes and their clients can be arrested. Everyone knows it but, despite this, there is always someone who wants to try to get away with it.

This is precisely the case of a 56-year-old Hispanic mother and her 36-year-old daughter. They have just been arrested along with five other people accused of prostitution. The arrest of this alleged ring took place in a hotel room in Newnan, Georgia about 30 miles south of Atlanta.

The hotel management exposed them

The arrest of Brea and Elisa Martínez occurred after the managers of the hotel where they were staying called the Coweta County authorities to report that there were seven people in one of the bedrooms — all adults — apparently having sex.

When the officers arrived at the scene and began to investigate, they discovered that the group had a series of online advertisements offering their sexual services right there, in that room. The police investigation  also revealed that the group of seven suspects — one of whom is a man and the rest women — also used to hang around parking lots offering sex to passers-by, right there in their own vehicles, regardless of whether it was day or night.

The police arrived well prepared to confront the suspects. They are well aware that many times prostitution is linked to drugs and weapons, so they were prepared for the worst. In the end, the multiple arrests were carried out without incident. So far they have not revealed if they found any illegal substances or guns.
