Amy Sweeney was one of the people who made a call from American Airlines Flight 11, and she said the following:

«We are flying very, very low. We are flying way too low. Oh my God we are flying way too low. Oh my God!» she exclaimed.

The flight attendant never imagined that the plane she was on would crash into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175 would crash into the South Tower of the WTC. A tragic event indeed.

Peter Hanson, a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175, contacted his father from the plane.

Peter’s father called police to report what was happening:

«I think they’ve taken over the cockpit — an attendant has been stabbed — and someone else up front may have been killed,» he reported.

He also mentioned that the plane was making «strange moves» and asked his father to call United Airlines.

Peter Hanson called his father again to keep him informed of the situation and let him know the plane had been hijacked.

He said, «It’s getting bad, Dad — a stewardess was stabbed — they seem to have knives and Mace — they said they have a bomb.»

There was more to come: Peter also revealed that he didn’t believe the pilot was currently flying the plane, but rather the hijackers were in control.

«I think we are going down — I think they intend to go to Chicago or someplace and fly into a building. don’t worry, Dad — if it happens, it’ll be very fast.»

According to 20 Minutos, another passenger named Brian Sweeney managed to get in touch with his wife.

«Hi, Jules, it’s Brian. Listen, I’m on an airplane that has been hijacked,» he said in this call.

He also called his mother and told her what some passengers on Flight 175 were considering doing.

Several of them were contemplating the option of storming the cockpit to wrest control from the hijackers.

Perhaps one of the most heart-wrenching calls from the first plane that crashed into the Twin Towers was made by flight attendant Betty Ong.

«The cockpit’s not answering. Somebody’s stabbed in business class, and, um I think there is Mace that we can’t breathe, I don’t know…,» the flight attendant said.

In this same call, Betty speculated that it was a hijacking: «I think we’re getting hijacked.»

Finally, Ong revealed that the hijackers were in the cockpit. TO LISTEN TO A CLIP OF THIS CALL CLICK HERE.
