Who was Tito Torbellino? Born May 24, 1981 in Phoenix, Arizona, singer Tomás Tovar Rascón, better known as Tito Torbellino, was murdered on May 29, 2014. Supposedly, he had said in a narcocorrido that he was going to be killed.

The singer specialized in banda sinaloense, norteño and norteño banda but he is mainly remembered for his narcocorridos. And, although his career began in 2002, it was not until 2009 that he began to have great success which continued until his death, a few days after his 33rd birthday.

According to Infobae, Tito wanted to be a singer since he was a child. His inspiration came mainly from his family who were originally from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, in Mexico. He started playing the accordion and writing his own songs at the age of 15.

According to Infobae, the singer was not the only one shot in this attack, perpetrated by a group of six men. Several other people who were present were also hit by bullets. Although medical personnel fought to keep Tito alive, he eventually died on the way to the hospital.

Although several names were mentioned as being responsible for Tito Torbellino’s murder, some time after this death it was found that the person who ordered the hit was a criminal named Carlos Montes, who was also murdered. Tito Torbellino is still remembered more than eight years after his death.
