Originally from Mexico City, Renata Flores was born on August 28, 1949. Before becoming an actress, she was a rock and roll singer.
In 1966, at the age of just 17, she released a four-song EP called simply Renata.
The song ‘Mi Novio Juan’ stood out, as well as her cover of ‘My boyfriend Jack’ by The Angels.
A few months later, she appeared in her first telenovela titled Gente Sin Historia. It was the beginning of a long acting career.
Who was Renata Flores?
After Gente Sin Historia, Renata Flores appeared in more telenovelas as well as a movie called Confesiones de una Adolescente in 1970.
She also appeared in Barata de Primavera, Marcha Nupcial, Rina, J.J. Juez, Chispita, and Sí, Mi Amor.
However, the character that propelled her to fame was Leopoldina, who, alongside Dulcina (played by Laura Zapata), made life difficult for Rosa Salvaje (played by Verónica Castro).
Her character made such an impact that people would stop her on the streets to reprimand her for her misdeeds.

After the success of Rosa Salvaje, Renata Flores had several offers to appear in other telenovelas.
These included Carrusel de las Américas, Mi Querida Isabel, Los Hijos de Nadie, El Alma no Tiene Color, Sin Ti, La Usurpadora and Gotita de Amor.
She also appeared in several episodes of Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real, a show produced by Silvia Pinal that was very successful.

From a successful acting career to life on the street
The last telenovela in which Renata Flores appeared was Amores Verdaderos in 2013. After that, little was heard about her.
In December 2020, in the midst of the COVID pandemic, YouTuber Alejandro Zúñiga revealed that the actress was living on the streets with her pets.
Some of her colleagues asked the National Association of Actors to rescue her from this sad situation.
Later, she was given accommodation at La Casa del Actor, located in Mexico City.
