The tragic event unfolded during a pursuit involving security forces in Cuautitlán Izcalli, near Mexico City. Initial reports suggested the possibility of a suicide.

However, on the evening of December 14, the true circumstances were revealed.

Throughout the trial, Bertha Ocaña, sister of Octavio Ocaña, emerged as a pivotal figure in the quest for justice.

During an unplanned press conference following the verdict, Octavio’s sister announced Azuara de la Luz’s guilt.

However, she emphasized that the exact sentence for the accused had not been determined yet.

Moreover, Bertha Ocaña revealed a grave accusation during her statement to the press.

She alleged that Leopoldo Azuara’s family had intimidated and threatened her mother while she was waiting outside the courtroom during the trial.

«Justice does exist»

Bertha forcefully addressed the media, stating, «I cannot ignore the fact that your cameras are here and I must make it clear to Leopoldo Azuara de la Luz’s family that they dared to threaten my mother», Bertha said.

«We are not afraid of them at all. Their threats don’t concern me. Let them try to confront us,» she continued with determination.

Ocaña further added, «If they are upset about the actions of this individual and the prison time he will face, that’s their problem.»

She concluded emphatically, «Justice does exist. I said this to the judge, and it has been proven true in our case.» This statement marked a strong closing sentiment from the sister of the late actor.
