Gunfire at breaks out at Philadelphia birthday party, four teens are shot

BIRTHDAY PARTY SHOOTING. Shooting erupted inside a house in the middle of a birthday party in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Authorities confirm that four people were shot and had to be transported immediately to a local hospital.

Shortly before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2800 block of Bonsall Street in Philadelphia. A teenage party had gotten completely out of control and at least four of the youths were shot.

Shooting erupts at birthday party

According to the authorities, a party was being held at the house to celebrate the birthday of a 17-year-old boy and some 20 other teenagers were enjoying the celebration, when suddenly several shots were heard on the first floor and the basement of the residence.

During the chaotic shooting that broke out in the middle of the birthday party, four teenagers, all between the ages of 15 and 18, were hit. All the victims, three of whom were girls, were taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment, local police said.

Four people were shot at the birthday party

Philadelphia Police Department Chief Scott Small told local media that a 15-year-old girl was shot in the back and leg. Two other teenagers aged 16 and 18, were injured in the leg. The fourth victim, an 18-year-old man, was also shot in the leg.

Relatives of the victims gathered outside the emergency room of the medical center waiting for news about the condition of their loved ones. It is expected that all four victims recover from their injuries, according to CBS News.

Authorities also said a stray bullet entered the bedroom window of the neighbor who lives across the street. Fortunately, no one in the house across the street was hurt. Local police managed to recover multiple shell casings from the crime scene.

The authorities acted quickly to find those responsible and managed to arrest three suspects for shooting at the party. Two of the suspects were arrested a block away at a home on Judson Street, where a gun was also found.

Three suspects under arrest

Police also arrested a third suspect very close to the scene of the shooting. The young man was carrying a gun. Eyewitness News was on the spot and stated that the suspects looked young but police have not confirmed their identities or their ages.
