A former employee of the beauty products company, Kaitlin Tucker, revealed exclusively to The Sun that some retired scents are reused to create a «new» scent. She told the outlet that the popular retailer of candles, body products and fragrances sometimes repackages and renames old scents while advertising them as new.

«Obviously, it’s not been stated by the company, but as being a previous employee and working there for five years, you tend to catch onto things such as repackaging,» Tucker told The Sun. Would this be a trick that the company would use to replace products? Filed Under: Bath & Body Works Secrets

The former Bath & Body Works employee said that there are times when a smell ‘seems familiar to us’, however when we realize that the packaging doesn’t have the same name, we get confused. “You know when your favorite scent is repackaged to something else. You’re like, ‘Oh my God, I know what this is, but it’s not called the same thing,'» she told The Sun.

The Sun has reached out to Bath & Body Works for comment multiple times but had not heard back at the time of publication. Tucker said her favorite candle is Midnight Blue Citrus. She believes that it is a scent that is repackaged during the holiday season as Snowflakes and Citrus. Filed Under: Bath & Body Works Secrets

Why does the company make these changes?

Kaitlin Tuker told the UK newspaper that she doesn’t know the exact reason why the company does such a thing, but has a theory: «They wanted to add in a crowd favorite» to its Christmas scents.»

Tucker said all you have to do is simply look at the fragrances and the order they’re listed on the ingredients label to see if they match a previous scent. «And even though they swap some of the words, they’re still very similar, and in the end; it’s just the same candle repackaged,” Tucker revealed.
