The statement detailed that they have exhausted «all possible resources up to this point» and have documented all pertinent information. This information has been shared with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.

Furthermore, the HCSO noted that the District Attorney’s office is actively providing direction regarding the extradition process.

However, they acknowledged that the investigation remains incomplete due to outstanding reports that are beyond their jurisdiction, including the need for an autopsy report and a ballistics report.

Karly Navarrete, 48, initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, Ever Navarrete, on August 1, 2023, in Fort Bend County, Texas.

Two months after the filing, on September 30, 2023, Ever Navarrete reportedly ambushed his estranged wife, Karly Kimberly Navarrete Díaz, and fatally shot her multiple times.

The couple had been together for over thirty years before Karly decided to end the relationship, prompted by her husband’s infidelities.

Early in the investigation, officers found out that the victim had been separated from her husband for just four weeks, although their divorce had not been finalized.
