  • Chronicle: Tragedy at a Christmas party.
  • Two brothers-in-law who had come to the celebration argued.
  • One of them ended up dead after being run over outside the house.

Christmas is coming, a traditional time for giving and sharing. In fact, that was precisely what a Hispanic family in Georgia had planned. They threw a Christmas party at dawn but, unfortunately, things did not go as planned.

It turns out that, an argument broke out between a couple of in-laws while they were chatting in the backyard of the Lawrenceville home. The reason for the altercation is unknown, but it became heated to the point that one of the men involved decided that it was best to leave the scene immediately to prevent things from escalating even more.

The argument continued into the street

However, according to a report from Gwinnett County authorities, the disagreement between the brothers-in-law had already become too heated. A struggle ensued outside of the house. At one point, Ernesto Pelayo, 34, got into his vehicle with the intention of leaving.

It was then that Juan Davila, 41, crossed his path to prevent him from going. That was a tremendous mistake because Ernesto ran Juan over without even thinking twice. He was left seriously injured and bleeding to death on the pavement. Filed Under: Latin Christmas Tragedy Chronicle

Ernesto knew very well what he had done. The police are sure that he purposely ran over his brother-in-law. Although it may have been in a fit of anger, that obviously does not justify his actions. Now police are looking for him to charge him with murder and other serious charges.

Police have already gone to look for him at his house in Lilburm but he wasn’t there. It is evident that he’s on the run because he knows what he has done. They’ve found no trace of his truck either, but detectives know that it’s a matter of time before they do find him so that they can make him pay for his crime. Michele Pihera, a spokesperson for the Gwinnett police department, told the media that the cause or motive for this deadly brawl is still under investigation. It has not yet been established what caused the fight between the brothers-in-law or why the victim decided to follow his killer to the street.

Pihera indicated that they have the testimony of several witnesses and everything points to the fact that the Ernesto is at fault because when he saw Juan heading towards him, he could have just left in his vehicle. Authorities are now on his trail and consider him a cold-blooded murderer. Filed Under: Latin Christmas Tragedy Chronicle

As expected, those close to Juan are vociferously demanding that justice be done. Juan’s daughter shared a post on her Facebook page, in both English and Spanish, and she even tagged the suspect. “No one can bring my father back,”,lamented Araceli Zúñiga Dávila.

“I ask that this murderer be found today and justice be done so that my family can rest in their pain. Ernesto Pelayo Brambila if you see  this and you have a little conscience left: surrender,» added the distraught young woman in an attempt to persuade the suspect to turn himself in. Angélica Flores also used social media to ask that if someone knows his whereabouts that they report it as soon as possible. “Wanted, Ernesto Pelayo Brambila killed my cousin. Let’s help to do justice, please share and notify the authorities if you see him,” the girl asked.

Gwinnett Police rightly hope that with the public’s help they will catch the suspect soon. Another tragedy that leaves our community in mourning just before the Christmas and New Years holidays, when everything is supposed to be love, peace and happiness. They have not given further details about this case, but I would not be surprised if alcohol played a role in this terrible tragedy. Thank you for reading my chronicle today in MundoHispánico. Until next time. Filed Under: Chronicle Latin Christmas Tragedy
