MundoNOW received eight nominations for the Emmy Awards, which are presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The academy announced the nominations on May 1 during a ceremony at The Usual Kitchen & Bar in Atlanta.

MundoNOW was nominated for eight 2022 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards, in categories such as Outstanding Investigative Reporter, Outstanding Thematic Documentary, and Outstanding Talent-Show Host/Moderator/Correspondent.

Southeast Regional Emmy Awards

For 48 years, the Southeast Regional Emmy Awards have recognized and awarded excellence for work on newscasts, series, documentaries, as well as other television projects. They also give awards for digital media and to the professionals who work at these media companies.

This is the fourth consecutive year that MundoNOW has participated in this prestigious award show and won 16 statuettes. Here are the results of the MundoNOW team’s work at the 2022 Southeast Regional Emmy Awards.

MundoNOW wins multiple Emmys

The gala for the Emmys was broadcast live through its official site. The event recognized the talent of dozens of journalists from various news networks and independent media outlets, both in English and Spanish, including several journalists from MundoNOW.

Journalist and Digital Content Strategist for MundoNOW, Elienny Dib Caiazzo, received the first Emmy in the “Documentary – Topical” category for “Samuel Little: The Bloodiest Murderer in the USA”, material for which María Gabriela Arteaga, Mayra González and Luis Contreras were also nominated.

Seconds after MundoNOW was awarded the first Emmy, journalist Alfredo Suárez Quintero received a second prize on behalf of the team in the same category for “Sin Fronteras” by Ángel Ortega and Johana del Valle.

But the acknowledgments did not stop there, since the MundoNOW team received another award in the category «Commercial Campaign» with «Lala: taste ours», for which Luis Contreras, Paola Camacho and María Bastidas were nominated.
