Before delving into details regarding the best places to see the April 8 eclipse, it’s worth recalling a few things.

A solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.

When this happens the moon partially or totally blocks sunlight in certain parts of the globe.

This phenomenon can only be seen during the day when it creates a brief period of total darkness.

Some of the best places to view the eclipse are in Mexico and Canada

The best places to see the April 8 eclipse include parts of the U.S. as well as Mexico and Canada.

The solar eclipse will be visible throughout Mexico, but it only some states will be totally dark.

These include Sinaloa, Nayarit, Durango, Chihuahua and Coahuila, while the rest of the country will experience a partial eclipse.

In Canada, it will be visible in Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

It’s worth clarifying that after the solar eclipse is visible in Mexico, U.S. residents will begin to see it at 1:27 p.m. Central Time.

According to National Geographic, this phenomenon will cross parts of Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.

Then, it will proceed through Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania, but there are still more places for viewing.

Residents of New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine will be able to witness this phenomenon.

Experts recommend checking the weather

Solar physicist Ryan French advises, in addition to choosing where to view the eclipse, people should consider the weather.

Many scientists agree that the best places with the highest likelihood of having good weather are Mexico and Texas in the U.S.

An event is being organized in Carbondale, Illinois, to witness this phenomenon.

However, if weather conditions do not permit, live television broadcasts from other locations will be shown.

Finally, we have a list of the best places to the see the April 8 eclipse in the U.S.

In Texas, San Antonio, Dallas, and Austin have the most hotels. The best place to get married during the eclipse is Russellville, Arkansas. Meanwhile, Booneville and Paris, Arkansas are the best locations for camping.

Indianapolis, Indiana, is also a good location for viewing, according to National Geographic.

The best family destinatios are Wapekoneta and Cleveland Ohio. The most picturesque location is Niagra Falls and the best museums can be found in Rochester, NY.
