Bertha Ocaña, the sister of the late actor, used her official Instagram account to share the news.

There, she expressed her complete satisfaction in ensuring that her brother’s murder did not go unpunished, after several trials were conducted.

According to Bertha, it was a lengthy process, involving more than ’80 witnesses’ and over ’50 hours of oral trial’ to finally achieve justice for her brother.

She emphasized that initially, the State of Mexico’s Prosecutor’s Office had accused Ocaña of taking his own life during the police chase, a claim that was refuted during the trial.

In her post, the sister of the ‘Neighbors’ actor shared a screenshot of the news about Leopoldo Azuara’s sentence along with a written statement.

Her message began with a quote from Mr. Francisco Hernández: «When it all started, Octavio was entirely to blame.»

«But as time went on, with a father who transformed his pain into strength, a strong and capable mother, and a humanistic legal team, two crimes were brought to light,» she continued.

She mentioned, ‘Initially, it was abuse of authority and manslaughter. However, over time, thanks to the independent expert reports we commissioned as a family, it was proven otherwise,’ the statement read.

Additionally, Bertha acknowledged the judge’s critical role in the process, noting that the case was initially assigned to someone who allegedly falsified evidence.

«A judge cannot invent or infer; he can only observe, analyze, and make a judgment,» said the young woman, reflecting on the agent’s sentencing.

«God was steering this case at all times, surrounding us with many people of good heart,» Bertha Ocaña added.

She concluded her message by expressing heartfelt thanks to all those who supported them during the two-year battle to secure Leopoldo Azuara’s sentence.

«There’s definitely nothing more to say. I feel grateful to all the people involved in this verdict,» she expressed.

«I couldn’t do anything for my brother at the time because I found out about everything too late,'»Bertha explained in her post.

«But over the past two years, I’ve done much more than I could have at that moment,» the actor’s sister concluded in her message.
