The story unfolded in the tranquil Las Lomas neighborhood, in the municipality of Juárez, Nuevo León.
The horror began when Antonio Briones Ramírez, 54, killed his wife, Yésica Maribel Martínez, 45.
He also killed his stepdaughters, 3-year-old Yésica Sofía and 16-year-old Cristal, using a bladed weapon.
Neighbors in the area reported hearing screams coming from the residence located at the intersection of Colina Turquesa and Colina de la Morena streets.
What happened?
Neighbors stated that Ramírez had a history of drug use, raising questions about his mental state at the time of the murders.
Despite hearing screams coming from Yésica’s home, neighbors did not intervene during the attack.
Allegedly, Briones wounded Yésica multiple times with the weapon, then did the same to his stepdaughters Cristal and Sofía, before taking his own life.
Darilse Torres, Yésica’s eldest daughter, spoke out to express her profound pain and refute false stories circulating on social media.
Could the tragedy have been prevented?
Through social media, rumors circulated that one of the girls was being abused by her stepfather, information that Torres denied.
«The news is spreading a lot of misinformation about what happened. They don’t know the whole situation or the immense pain that we, the family, carry,» Torres said on social media.
«If the police had done their job, this wouldn’t be happening,» she continued.
«It hurts me deeply because my sisters were not to blame, much less my mom; one is not prepared for these things.»

He shared posts promoting his business as a plasterer.
However, behind this virtual facade hid a domestic violence situation that ended in tragedy.
