His 11-year-old bulldog Fiona, passed away suddenly despite being in perfect health.
The video of Fiona’s death was shown in an episode of the series De Viaje con los Derbez. He described her as his «adventure companion.»

The star of the hit movie Radical opened his heart to his fans.
«The pain I feel today is immense. My companion is gone, who walked by my side these last 11 years,» said Eugenio Derbez.
Furthermore, the actor and comedian said that Fiona was the best sister to his daughter Aitana, who he shares with Alessandra Rosaldo.
«No one was closer to me in these 11 years than her. I know I’m going to miss her every moment of the day,» he said.
Eugenio Derbez thanks fans for their support
Finally, Eugenio Derbez thanked everyone who knew and loved his dog Fiona.
In addition to thanking God, he acknowledged his wife Alessandra and his daughter Aitana for being the best family to their beloved bulldog.
«Fly high, my girl! For Dad, Mom, and Aitana, you will always be alive in every corner of the house and in our hearts,» he said.

As mentioned earlier, it was in an episode of the series De Viaje con los Derbez that the video of Fiona’s death was shown.
Eugenio Derbez’s wife, Alessandra Rosaldo, said it was ‘very painful’ since it was totally unexpected.
In the video, you can see the actor playing on a tennis court, and his dog is nearby.
«The day she died, she was playing with me. There was nothing she liked more in life than going to a tennis court to chase balls,» he said.
Fiona had a heart attack
In one part of this video, you can see the exact moment of Fiona’s death. She simply collapsed right in front of him.
«The only thing that comforts me is that she died with me and doing what she loved the most,» said the Overboard star.
Furthermore, he revealed that his wife and two daughters, Aitana and Alessandra, as well as his granddaughter and some friends, were there.
Towards the end, he said that the next day they held a moving farewell ceremony.

«Aitana came into this family when Fiona was already part of it. It was Eugenio, Fiona and me,» said the Sentidos Opuestos singer.
The actor and comedian said that his dog traveled with him almost everywhere and accompanied him on all his film sets.
