  • Texas confirms sending migrants to Democratic cities.
  • This is challenging local governments.
  • They struggle to support the influx of migrants.

The state of Texas reported on Friday, January 12, that it has sent more than 100,000 asylum seekers to «sanctuary cities.»

They have been bused to Democratic cities like New York and Chicago.

Local governments are facing problems with providing shelter and support to newly arrived migrants.

In a statement, the Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, said that as of Friday, he had sent 101,000 migrants on charter buses using state resources.

According to EFE, the Texas governor said he’s sending migrants to «sanctuary cities.»

Abbott began sending migrants to these destinations in April 2022 as part of his strategy to combat the influx of immigrants to his state.

He accuses Biden of having a policy of «open borders.»

New York City has recieved the most asylum seekers so far with 37,100 sent on buses from the Texas border.

The situation forced the New York mayor, Democrat Eric Adams, to sign an executive order limiting the arrival of buses with immigrants.

He is imposing punishments on those who don’t comply.

A similar measure was taken by the mayor of Chicago, Democrat Brandon Johnson, in response to the nearly 31,000 migrants that have arrived in that city.

Abbott has continued to send buses to cities to nearby Democratic cities. He has also chartered private flights to send migrants to other states.

Adams responded last week with a lawsuit against 17 bus and transportation companies that have brought asylum-seekers from Texas to New York.

And he demands $708 million to cover the costs of their care, according to EFE.

In an interview with the Fox News, Abbott said that the New York mayor should sue President Biden, who he says is the one responsible for NYC’s immigration crisis.

The U.S. capital has received 12,500 migrants on buses sent from Texas, 15,700 have arrived in Denver, 3,400 in Philadelphia and 1,500 in Los Angeles.

The mass transfer of migrants

The mass transfer of migrants by bus is a complex logistical process that involves coordination between government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and transportation companies.

These types of actions are carried out with the aim of relieving pressure in certain areas, distributing migrants to other regions that have the resources to receive them.

The process generally begins with the identification of destination cities that have the capacity to receive large numbers of migrants.

Throughout the journey, humanitarian assistance is provided, including food, water and medical care when necessary.

Despite efforts to ensure safe transfer, these types of operations are not without challenges and criticism.

Migrants, who have often already faced difficult situations, may experience additional stress due to the uncertainty of their destination and the transfer process itself.

Likewise, adapting new communities can present challenges for migrants, who must integrate into unfamiliar environments.

Local and government organizations play a fundamental role in facilitating this process, offering resources and support programs that allow migrants to establish themselves successfully.
