The large shelf cloud resembled a hurricane moving over the beach area, but other people went further in their explanations and even said that it was signaling the arrival of a giant UFO because, allegedly, that area has an alien base.

The sky looked like it was divided into two parts, as if split in half. On the left side the sea and the serene town could be seen, while on the right side it looked as if an immense wave was about to descend on everyone. This phenomenon is known as a shelf cloud.

The shelf cloud could be seen over the southern part of Tamaulipas and, according to reports from the National Meteorological Service, it is unusual to see this type of formation. It is even classified as one of the most studied phenomena by climate experts: «It is a low cloud, horizontal, united and connected to the base of the mother cloud, difficult for it to form and difficult to find,” sources told Sin Embargo.

In recent weeks, strange phenomena such as sightings of strange lights have been reported in different parts of Mexico and several claim to have seen UFOs flying in the Mexican sky.
