BAD NEWS STILL COMING. Authorities announced that the death toll after the shooting in Highland Park, Illinois has risen. Yesterday there were six known victims of the shooting and 30 people had been injured. Today, the death of another victim has been confirmed, raising the number to seven, as well as 39 injured.

Highland Park’s mayor, Nancy Rotering, announced the seventh death. At the moment, the investigation of the incident continues. It is known that the alleged shooter, 21-year-old Robert «Bobby» Crimo, fired about 70 times at the people who were attending the Independence Day parade.

The number of fatalities in the mass shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois has increased to seven, according to local authorities, the EFE agency reported. The authorities, at first, stated that six people had lost their lives, while 30 people had been injured.

Details about the victims of this tragic shooting are still not known at this time. Authorities have kept the identities of those who lost their lives private and continue to investigate the events that led to the alleged shooter committing this massacre. Robert Crimo is currently in police custody.

Highland Park’s mayor, Nancy Rotering, confirmed to CNN that a seventh victim of the attack had died on Tuesday, a few minutes before a new press conference, the EFE news agency reported. At the moment, the identities of the people who died have not been released.

Northshore University Health System has reported at least 39 people were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the attack, CNN noted. Initially, the authorities declared there were 30 victims and some have already been discharged from the hospital.

Highland Park police revealed that the main suspect in the massacre, 21-year-old Robert Crimo, had spent weeks planning the shooting and that he disguised himself as a woman to avoid suspicion during his escape. The death of the seventh victim has further angered residents.

A spokesman for the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force said at a news conference that the suspected shooter, who was arrested Monday night, had used a high-powered rifle “similar to an AR-15” that he fired from the top of a commercial building into a crowd that had gathered for the parade in Highland Park, The Associated Press reported.
