Jorge Ramos and Chiquinquirá Delgado began dating in 2011, but on several occasions a separation has been speculated.

«He says that he comes from a very humble family where they celebrate almost nothing and I have taught him to celebrate everything,» she revealed.

She began to tell how her romance with the Mexican journalist arose in an unexpected way.

«My relationship with him was obviously not in my plans but Carlota was blessed,» shared Chiqui Delgado.

«And I remember that we were at a recording of a Univision Christmas commercial where all the talents came together,» she stressed.

«Suddenly this man comes… It was the first time I saw him and you know, those recordings last until 3 in the morning,» Chiquinquirá revealed.

How did the Univisión host’s courtship begin?

«Everyone starts taking photos of their children and then sees the girl’s photo and says ‘oh what a pretty girl, her dad must be very proud,'»s he said.

To this, Chiqui’s response was direct and clear: «There is no dad as such at this moment’ (laughs). And that’s how it all began.»

«We started talking about his books, the next day I received a dozen books at my house and it all started with an exchange,» said the Venezuelan.

«He is very intelligent, as I was just starting out as a mother, he sent me a book that he wrote to his children,» she shared.

An organic romance

Then he argued: «I cried reading the letters that he wrote to his children, a beautiful book where he tells them everything he wants to say to them.»

«With that book I said like let’s get to the point here (laughs). And that’s how it all began. Everything was organic, very casual, nothing planned,” said Chiqui.

At one point in the conversation, Alejandro Chabán asked her: «Do you have to know about politics and news to be with Jorge?»

Chiqui responded: «I have obviously learned a lot with him, plus I come from a country where politics became the center of life.»

«But he, for example, loves sports, he loves to travel… There are other things apart from politics that he enjoys very much,» she said.
