TikTok’s CEO, Shou Chew, will be one of the honorary co-chairs of the 2024 Met Gala.

His company, increasingly present at haute couture events, is the funding the bulk of this year’s event.

While Chris Hemsworth will attend the gala for the first time, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Bad Bunny have attended the event before.

In JLo’s case, this is her thirteenth Met Gala, making her the celebrity who has attended the gala the most times.

Jennifer Lopez is a trendsetter

JLo’s Ralph Lauren gown with a plunging neckline paired with a cowboy-style hat was one of the most notable looks from the 2021 Met Gala.

Zendaya’s Joan of Arc look in 2018 was also a stand-out.

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny wore an open-back suit with a floral-patterned cape just last year.

‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’

The Met Gala 2024 will kick off the grand fashion exhibition that the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York inaugurates each spring.

This year, it focuses on the ephemeral nature of clothing and its trends, entitled «Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.»

This celebration is known for being the quintessential star-studded NYC fashion event.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until September 2 of this year.

What is the goal of the Met Gala?

The Met Gala is a huge fundraising event to benefit the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

It provides the Costume Institute with its main source of funding for annual exhibitions.

It also helps fund publications, acquisitions, operations and capital improvements.

So far, the gala has raised more than $223.5 million for the Costume Institute under Anna Wintour’s direction.

Bad Bunny is a fashion icon

According to Elle magazine, after attending just two Met Galas, Bad Bunny has become an important figure at this event.

Previously, the Puerto Rican singer starred in Sabato de Sarno’s first campaign alongside Kendall Jenner in September 2023.

Just a few days ago, he was part of Jacquemus’s ‘Les Sculptures’ campaign. Before that, he appeared in ‘Le Splash’ in February 2022.

This year, everyone is excited to see his ensemble for the 2024 Met Gala.
