A Queens father allegedly tried to drown his two children at a beach in West Haven, Connecticut, USA.
According to the authorities, the children are currently recovering in an Intensive Care Unit in the city.
Police officers prevented the man from committing this heinous act after they heard screams coming from the water.
An officer found Romney Desronvil, 41, with two children in the water, the police said.

As reported by ABC News, when the officer entered the water, the Queens dad continued to move away with his two children.
At the same time, he was yelling at the officers to stay back.

«It was obvious at that moment that the man… was deliberately drowning his children,» reported the West Haven Police Department in a statement.
Additionally, other police officers and members of the fire department entered the water to help, reaching up to 100 meters from the shore.
Fortunately, the officers were able to remove the children from their father.
They also managed to bring them back to shore to take lifesaving measures before rushing them to the hospital.
Romney Desronvil, a family man residing in Queens, was immediately arrested. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, in addition to risk of injury.
According to ABC News, the information about the suspect’s lawyer was not immediately available.
«Undoubtedly, the quick response of our patrol officers saved the lives of these children,» said the police on Facebook after the rescue.
A call was made to the police requesting information about possible charges and additional information.
The van of this Queens dad was seen at 2:30 AM on this Saturday, June 22.
As reported by CBS News, the incident is still under investigation.
