Drag Race Mexico prizes: What will the winner of the first season of the reality competition take home?

The prizes are: A crown, a scepter, a year’s worth of makeup and $32,0oo.

All the contestants hope to win but only the most creative, talented and beloved by the audience will take home the grand prize.

Lolita Banana, a Mexican drag queen and former contestant on Drag Race France, is one of the hosts of the show in Mexico.

Lolita said in an interview with the EFE agency that she wants the contestants to celebrate Mexican culture in all its glory.

«This season, without slipping into clichés, we want to see the elements of Mexican-ness that are recognized worldwide.»

«There will be piñatas, mole, tacos, songs for washing dishes,» Banana emphasized.

Valentina gives the show a magical touch

Valentina, another of the hosts, told EFE that she wants the contestants to charm the Mexican audience.

«All 11 queens each have a great personality, and we want everyone in Mexico to fall in love with each one of them,» she said.

The Mexican-American star continued: «We want Mexico to have its favorite.»

Drag Race Mexico hit the screens of MTV Latin America in June and is about to conclude its first season.

A panel of original judges

Mexican fashionista Oscar Madrazo is one of the main judges of the show’s first season.

Madrazo stated in the interview that this season of the television show aims to entertain Mexican families.

«We are lives, 14 lives that are an example of the struggle to do what we love and to be proud of it,» said Madrazo.

Karime Pindter, Danna Paola and Alejandra Bogue are some of the guest judges in this first season.

Diversity in Mexico

The eleven contestants talked to EFE about the diversity of this first season.

Regina Voce stated that there is as much diversity on the competition set as there is on the streets of Mexico.

«It has been healing. I, as a kid, have known Drag Race since I was 15 years old, I watched it secretly from my family,» said Vermelha Noir.

All the contestants have one goal: to take home the grand prize. However, only one of them will succeed.
