Jacob Padrón was fatally shot in in a road rage incident in Houston, Texas.

Sixteen-year-old Jacob Padrón died right in front of his parents’ house after being followed through the streets of Houston by an enraged driver.

His distraught family desperately sought help from the authorities after he was shot in broad daylight.

Who killed 16-year-old Jacob Padrón?

Police now need the community to help to apprehend the person, or persons, responsible for the death of Jacob Padrón.

On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, the Harris County police received a call alerting them to a shooting.

Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrived at 5:30 p.m. at the home located at 2123 Brea Crest Street.

Paramedics rushed Jacob Padrón to a hospital in hopes of saving his life.

It all started with a dispute with another driver

After confirming Jacob Padrón’s death, detectives from the HCSO’s Homicide Division took over the homicide investigation.

According to several witnesses and security camera footage, the conflict between Jacob Padrón and another driver began on nearby streets.

Jacob Padrón was followed home by the other driver, allegedly another young man, who confronted him upon arrival.

They began arguing until someone pulled a gun and began firing.

Jacob Padrón was shot in the torso

When Jacob Padrón’s family saw what had just happened, they called for paramedics while the shooter fled in his car.

Now, HCSO’s Homicide Division detectives are reviewing various security cameras trying to identify the murderer’s car.

Case documents reveal that Jacob Padrón was also armed, and his family voluntarily handed his weapon over to investigators.

It is not yet clear if Jacob Padrón fired his weapon, but he was shot at least once in the torso.

‘My life changed forever’

Ashley Padrón, Jacob’s mother, has set up the GoFundMe ‘Help lay my baby Jacob Padron too rest!!’ to seek financial help.

«[O]n May 22, 2024, my life changed forever, my son was involved in a road rage situation,» said Ashley Padrón.

She revealed that on that day she had sent her son to the store to buy spaghetti sauce.

«Please help lay him to rest» she added.

Gun-related deaths continue to rise

The brutal shooting death of 16-year-old Jacob Padrón in Houston, Texas, is one of many firearm incidents in the United States.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, so far in 2024, 6,707 people have died in shootings.

As of Tuesday, May 28, 2024, a total of 12,430 people have been injured in violent shooting incidents across the country.

Furthermore, there have already been 179 mass shootings in the United States, where at least four people died in the same violent attack.
