First off, who is footballer Josh Cavallo? He is from Australia and was born on November 13, 1999. He is currently 24 years old.

He plays as a left-back for Adelaide United in Australia’s A-League.

It is said that he is the second active player to publicly come out and the first in Australia.

Robbie Rogers came out in 2013 while playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy.

‘This is the beginning of my fight’

According to CNN, footballer Josh Cavallo first came out in a video in October 2021.

Later, in an interview with Attitude magazine, he said he wanted to be a role model for future generations.

«I want to be a voice heard loud and clear, to make sure everyone is accepted within society. This is just the beginning of my fight,» he said.

After him, Englishman Jake Daniels (Bradford) and Czech Jakub Jankto (Cagliari) also came out.

«It’s been a journey to get to this point in my life; but I couldn’t be happier with my decision to come out,» he wrote.

The left-back also stated that he had been struggling with his sexuality for years and was happy to end that struggle.

He got down on one knee

Josh Cavallo shared a series of images where he proposes to his boyfriend on Instagram.

Getting down on one knee in Coopers Stadium, he asked his partner, Leighton Morrell, to marry him.

«Starting this year with my fiancé. Mr. and Mr. Coming soon. Thank you @adelaideunited for helping set up this surprise.»

It didn’t take long for reactions and congratulations to pour in.
