The singer told them he was going to a local residence to seek refuge for the night, without imagining what would happen next.
While he was on the road, he was intercepted by individuals dressed as federal police officers. His body was found at 6:00 a.m. the next day.
The 31-year-old singer was found with his hands tied, blindfolded, and shot twice in the head on the side of a road in Sinaloa.

Recently, Nunca Tuvo Miedo, a docuseries about the life of the singer Chalino Sánchez, premiered on ViX.
In light of this, his daughter, Cynthia Sánchez Vallejo, gave an interview to Pepe Garza and discussed what she knows about the infamous note.
«We clarify what we can, and in the video, it appears. I think it was something like that,» she said.
«There’s no way to argue that he went from smiling to looking down, and his expression changed. So, I think it was a death threat.»
An ongoing mystery
On the podcast No Hay Pelo, Chalino Sánchez’s daughter revealed more details about the alleged death threat her father received.
«I have no way of saying, ‘It said this.’ Neither does my mom, nor my uncles, because no one saw it, other than him. We can assume from what is in the video.»
Cynthia Sánchez Vallejo also said it was likely a death threat, based on what happened to her father.
More than 30 years after the singer’s murder, the contents of that note he read at his last concert remain a mystery.
Dangers Chalino Sánchez faced in California
In Nunca Tuvo Miedo, which is five episodes, little-known details of Chalino Sánchez’s life are revealed.
His widow, Marisela Sánchez, stated that the singer had already survived two attacks in California.
One of them occurred during one of his performances after a man approached him to request a song.
This man didn’t want to wait for Chalino and shot him, injuring his lung.

Marisela Sánchez also shared that a man dressed as a woman tried to enter the hospital pretending to be a relative of the singer.
