It was the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, with 85 beautiful women competing for the title.

Originally from Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico, Melissa Flores became interested in beauty pageants from a very young age.

She was born in the municipality of Venustiano Carranza, Michoacán, not in Sahuayo, and she is 5′ 9″ tall.
Additionally, she is considered one of the favorites to win this year’s edition of Miss Universe.
It’s also worth noting that she serves as the director of Culture and Tourism in Venustiano Carranza.
Her No Me Limites initiative
Furthermore, Melissa Flores heads the No Me Limites initiative, which aims to prevent toxic relationships.
According to El Diario de Yucatán, she has visited various schools in different communities to talk about self-love.
At home, she enjoys CrossFit, spending time with her family, friends and pets.
During the preliminary competition held on Wednesday, she made an impact with her swimsuit and evening gown looks.

Melissa Flores said that she started No Me Limites because of the need to recognize how violence in relationships affects our surroundings.
«The main objective is to provide tools for detection and protection in these situations that affect us,» said the model and influencer.
According to Uno.TV, the Miss Universe contestant she wants to help put a stop to domestic violence.
Finally, she said that for several years, she set the goal of becoming Miss Universo Mexico, as this helps her to become a better version of herself.
