A squirrel allegedly «invaded» a substation, causing damage.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 14, approximately 1,200 residents in Troy, Montana were left without electricity.

The city announced on Facebook that the outage could last at least five hours.

Crews are working on repairs to restore service, reported Montana Right Now.

The Northern Lights power outage map shows the extent of the disruption caused by the squirrel.

The outage stretches from Highway 2 at the Yaak River to the southern point of Bull Lake in Montana.

Meanwhile, according to the city’s Facebook page, in Kalispell, power is expected to be restored by 6 p.m.
