Jesús Alfredo Guzmán, better known as ‘Alfredillo’, is another one of the most iconic drug traffickers and one José Joaquín Guzmán Loera’s children. Just as his father taught him, it is said that Alfredillo is currently preserving the heritage of the Sinaloa Cartel.

Since 2018, El Chapo’s son is considered one of the ten most wanted fugitives by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The DEA wants him on charges of conspiracy to possess and attempt to distribute controlled substances, as well as conspiracy to import and export controlled substances for distribution.

According to El Universal, Jesús Alfredo Guzmán, or Alfredillo, was born on May 17, 1983 in the municipality of Zapopan, Jalisco. He is one of the eldest children of one of the most wanted drug lords of all time, El Chapo Guzman.

Being part of the Guzmán dynasty is a permanent seal, since his notorious participation in the drug world has allowed him to exploit the new era of drug trafficking, together with the inheritance and example that El Chapo gave all his children.

Alfredillo is the result of the relationship between María Alejandrina Salazar Hernández and Joaquín Guzmán Loera, who were married in 1997. El Chapo had four children with María Alejandrina, the eldest of them being Jesús Alfredo Guzmán, followed by Iván Archivaldo, ‘El Ratón’. Together, they are known in the drug world as ‘Los Chapitos’. Alejandrina and César are also part of this family.

Although the date on which this family separated is unknown, the first two children, including Jesús Alfredo, decided to preserve their father’s work. That’s how they started developing new strategies to gain territory and money in the drug world.

According to investigations done by the United States authorities, between 2004 and 2005, El Chapo’s son coordinated shipments of cocaine, marijuana and heroin, as well as various synthetic drugs to the United States for the Sinaloa Cartel.

His first arrest warrant was issued by a general judge in 2009, however Alfredillo did not see it as an obstacle. Instead, he intended to continue expanding his work not only to Mexico and the United States, but to other parts of the world.

Starting his criminal activity from a very young age did not prevent Jesús Alfredo Guzmán from earning his place as one of the leaders The Sinaloa Cartel. On August 15, 2016, Alfredillo and Iván Archivaldo were apprehended in a restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

That same year, the United States revealed that Alfredo Guzmán served as coordinator of the criminal activities of shipments to that country and took on the role of administrator of cash, from the sale of various drugs, being sent to Mexico.

The media made public that, after the arrest of the Flores twins who worked for the Sinaloa Cartel in the United States, they decided to cooperate with the authorities and gave them information that had come from Jesús Alfredo.

In one of the operations, it was El Chapo’s son who revealed information about his father. Joaquín Guzmán Loera that was heard in a recording and the tape was handed over to the anti-drug agency.
