The arrest warrant for Paul Digiacinto, consulted by MundoNow, reveals details of Kayla Arce’s murder.

At 5:55 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, several of her neighbors in Coral Springs called 911.

Calls reported that several gunshots had been heard at a house on the corner of Northwest 107th Drive and 21st Street.

Officers from the Coral Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the scene to investigate the reports.

CSPD officers arrived at the scene and a neighbor told them that a man had been screaming for help moments earlier.

When the officers learned that an armed man was in the house, they requested the presence of a SWAT team.

For an hour the house was surrounded by SWAT officers until Paul Digiacinto’s father came out wounded.

The man told them that Kayla Arce was murdered by his son, who then had tried to smother him with a pillow but he played dead.

Shortly after, Paul Digiacinto also came out armed but immediately tried to go back into the house. SWAT officers prevented him from doing so.

A pair of CSPD SWAT officers risked their lives and ran to the door to apprehend Digiacinto. After a brief struggle they managed to disarm him.

Inside the house, the other officers saw the body of young Kyla Arce, who was badly wounded. Sadly, there was nothing they could do to save her.

Digiacinto’s father was taken to a hospital where he described what happened after being treated by doctors.

According to the man’s testimony, his son Paul and his girlfriend Kyla Arce were staying at his house for a few days.

For some reason that is not clear, on the day of the crime, Paul Digiacinto had taken his father’s and Arce’s cell phones and wanted to throw them into the toilet.

Digiacinto’s behavior upset Kyla Arce and she complained about it. Paul responded by shooting her several times. Then his father shouted for help.

Paul then shot at his father and tried to smother him with a pillow. He pretended to be dead to stop the attack.

«A friend and a sister to many. This is a very hard time for all of us as we seek justice for Kyla,» it continues.
