A bizarre foot fetish landed Mark Anthony González in serious legal trouble.

González could now spend the next 20 years behind bars after being convicted on serious charges.

He was dubbed the ‘Foot Fondler’ after the Nevada Police issued the first warnings about him.

Mark Anthony González was dubbed the ‘Foot Fondler’

Mark Anthony González was arrested in August 2023 and sentenced to serve between eight and 20 years in prison as well as paying $435 in compensation to each of his victims.

The investigation revealed that González did not reside in Nevada — he had traveled from California specifically to seek out his victims.

He attacked them in their rooms at a resort in Douglas County during a holiday weekend.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued a warning before July 4, urging Lake Tahoe residents to lock their doors, as a foot fondler was at large in the city.

He broke into women’s luxury hotel rooms

After the warning, there were more in incidents on July 2 and 3 in 2023.

The ‘Foot Fondler’ struck again. This time both victims were staying at a hotel on the 180 block of Elks Point Road in Stateline, according to police.

«Once the guests awoke, the intruder left the room through the sliding exterior door,» the official report read, warning residents that he had not yet been identified or located.

Both the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada State Police increased security in the county.

He even stole women’s shoes

Leads brought detectives to the Atwater/Merced County area in California.

There, González was a suspect in numerous crimes, including stealing women’s shoes for sexual pleasure, authorities reported.

In coordination with officers from the Merced County Sheriff’s Office, González was arrested at his home in Atwater, California.

He faces two charges of burglary and two charges of assault.

Extradition ordered for Mark Anthony González

«I am very pleased that my investigators were able to identify, locate and arrest this individual,» said Douglas County Sheriff Dan Coverley at the time.

«Making an arrest allows the victims and the community to feel safe again,» added the sheriff.

A Nevada court ordered his extradition from the Merced County Jail to the Douglas Correctional Facility.

He remains incarcerated to this day and is expected to spend his next few years.
