The Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office arrested Óscar Melchor ‘N’, also known as El 18, in Saltillo.
This arrest was made possible through the collaboration with the Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office.
This hitman and alleged leader of the Sinaloa Cartel in Quintana Roo was transferred to the municipality of Benito Juárez.
There, he will face justice for the charge of aggravated homicide of a victim whose identity has been withheld.
El 18 Kidnapped a Person
The Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office reported that El 18 is implicated in the illegal kidnapping of a person.
Accompanied by a group of hitmen, they transported this individual to the Alfredo V. Bonfil community.

There, they dismembered the victim and later left the body in a vehicle, which they then set on fire.
It is important to note that this heinous crime took place on April 19, 2021.
According to Milenio, El 18 was transferred from Saltillo to Cancún by air.
He arrived at Cancún International Airport in the early hours of Saturday, October 12.
At the Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office, he was medically certified.
Hours later, he was taken to the Social Rehabilitation Center in the municipality of Benito Juárez.
Infobae reported that El 18 had already been arrested on June 29, 2021, also in the Alfredo V. Bonfil community.
Along with four others, he was detained for possession of marijuana doses. They were also implicated in several homicides.
At that time, the hitman had three arrest warrants: two for homicide and one for attempted homicide with a firearm.
He is considered one of the main generators of violence in this region.
