The world of rock and music in general is once again dressed in mourning.
In the early hours of this Monday, July 29, the death of drummer Mick Underwood was confirmed.
It was one of her daughters, on behalf of her mother Sue, who announced the news through social media.
«Mick Underwood sadly passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife and beloved daughter by his side until his last breath.»

In another post, Lauren Newman shared that her father Mick Underwood died at 3:19 a.m. on Sunday, July 28.
He also revealed that the drummer had been suffering from Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia for several years and had recently deteriorated ‘extremely rapidly’.
«He held on and fought for a week, which is so typical of him, but he eventually took his last breath at peace with himself and with my mom by his side.»
Finally, the musician’s daughter commented that she knew her father was at peace now and would no longer suffer.
According to information from the Metal Journal website, Mick Underwood stood out both as a drummer in several bands and as a session musician.
Some of the bands he was in were The Outlaws and Episode Six, not to mention that he played with Jet Harris, The Herd and Quatermass.
In the seventies and eighties, he was part of Gillan, with whom he participated in several of their most important albums.
His last band was the one he formed: Mick Underwood’s Glory Road.
Almost a year ago, Mick Underwood’s wife confessed that the drummer was no longer using his Facebook page.
This is where Sue first commented that the drummer I was dealing with a ‘diagnosis of dementia ‘mixed’.
«He is unable to do many of the things he had previously enjoyed, one of which was chatting with all of you.»
Finally, Sue wanted to thank her husband’s fans for supporting him throughout his career.
