A study by FactoMétrica and Reporte Índigo reveals Sheinbaum holds a 63.4% approval rating for poverty reduction, 56.9% in public security, and 42.6% in anti-corruption efforts.
However, the latter figure also highlights room for improvement, with 57.4% of respondents perceiving shortcomings in this area.
One of the most notable accomplishments under her administration is a 24.9% reduction in homicides—credited to a security strategy focused on addressing root causes, institutional coordination, strengthening the National Guard, and enhancing intelligence work.
On the economic front, Sheinbaum unveiled an ambitious investment portfolio in April totaling $298 billion, comprising over 1,900 projects across all 32 Mexican states. The initiative aims to create jobs, bolster the domestic market, and advance toward food sovereignty.
Criticism of the President
The president Claudia Sheinbaum has also faced criticism for decisions such as dismantling autonomous institutions like CONEVAL and INAI.
Nevertheless, she has taken corrective action—for example, canceling a major pharmaceutical procurement after uncovering irregularities.
Internationally, she has adopted a diplomatic posture amid U.S. pressure—especially following Donald Trump’s return—prioritizing Mexico’s national interests without escalating tensions.
