The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of approximately 37,000 Traeger Flatrock Flat Top Propane Grills due to a potentially dangerous defect.

These gas grills, which are black with a silver lid and handle, may have an incorrect label on the burner control knob.

This could endanger consumers by increasing the risk of the grill remaining on inadvertently, making it a fire risk.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced what measures the company is taking to protect consumers.

People are urged to immediately stop using these recalled grills and contact Traeger for inspection instructions.

A free repair kit will be provided if incorrect labeling of the burner control knobs is confirmed.

So far, the company has received 57 reports related to these mislabeled knobs, but there have been no incidents of fire or injury to users.

The recalled grill is black and has a lockable lid with a silver handle.

In addition, it has ‘Traeger’ written in black with the Traeger logo as another way to identify the product.

The grill measures approximately 74 inches long by 27 inches wide by 36 inches high and weighs about 189 pounds.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission indicated that the grills have a silver label located on the back with the SKU number 1DFL42LLA.

The Traeger grill recall includes those that were sold from February to October 2023.

They could be purchased at an average price of around $900 and were sold in various stores around the country.

The grills were available at chains such as Ace Hardware, The Home Depot and Scheel’s, both in-store and online.
