Tornado hit Pennsylvania in Schuylkill County
Local officials reported that the tornado impacted the region of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania.
This occurred just before 8 p.m. on Monday, although a more detailed analysis by the National Weather Service is still awaited.
This event marks the first tornado in the eastern half of Pennsylvania this year, forecasting an intense storm for this Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to ABC 6, the tornado had a width of 75 yards and remained on the ground for approximately a mile and a half.
Aftermath of the tornado
The strong winds knocked down trees and left numerous homes and various businesses without electricity.
In addition to Schuylkill County, the storm front also affected Lancaster County, according to WGAL.
This prompted a tornado warning, although there was no confirmation that it had touched down.
Meanwhile, at the Lancaster Country Club, preparations continued for the U.S. Women’s Open.
