The Hispanic community is in mourning following the tragic murder of Farruko Pop, a young influencer and singer, whose body was found in a clandestine grave.

This occurred in the El Limón neighborhood, north of Guatemala City.

Farruko Pop, whose real name was Pop Chocoj, was found lifeless last Saturday, after having disappeared at the beginning of the previous week.

Authorities have arrested two young individuals, an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old woman, for their possible involvement in the homicide, according to reports from El Heraldo de México.

Additionally, the homicide is suspected to be related to the ‘Mara 18’ gang.

‘Farruko Pop’ was known for his comedy and music content on social media and had recently participated in the casting for the new generation of the reality show «La Academia».

This was in hopes of making a leap to fame and establishing himself as an artist.

Relatives in the community of Alta Verapaz, in northern Guatemala, where the young man also had roots, bid farewell to Farruko Pop with tears and calls for justice.

The white coffin of the young man, barely 18 years old, began its journey through this region, with a significant stop in the village of Chacalte in Izabal, where he was finally buried.

The scene was unexpected and marked by grief and background music, reflecting both sadness and hope for justice.

During the funeral procession, his father and grandmother appeared devastated but remained steadfast beside the coffin until Farruko was finally laid to rest.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE YOUNG SINGER?

Authorities have stated that the murder of Farruko Pop was carried out by members of the ‘Mara 18’.

However, it has been clarified that they cannot confirm yet whether the order for the crime came from the gang leadership.

As a preventive measure, the Ministry of the Interior has decided to isolate the four leaders of the ‘Mara 18’ who are in a state prison.

The investigation is ongoing, and the capture of the two young individuals linked to the case is just the beginning.
