The long-awaited return of The Last Of Us finally has a date.

This Sunday, the hit series inspired by the acclaimed video game returns for its second season, packed with more action, blood, and unexpected twists.

Joel Miller and Ellie, played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, are back fighting for survival in a devastated world.

The story picks up five years later in Jackson, Wyoming, where the protagonists try to live in peace alongside other survivors.

But danger still lurks. The threat of the Cordyceps fungus—which turns humans into zombies—remains ever-present.

This season is based on the video game The Last Of Us Part II, promising an even more intense storyline.

With only seven episodes, this season is shorter, but promises high-stakes drama from the very beginning through its finale on May 25.

Filming moved from Alberta to Vancouver, where key settings from this next chapter in the post-apocalyptic world were recreated.

The main cast returns, but new faces will play vital roles in the new season of The Last of Us.

Kaitlyn Dever stars as Abby, a soldier driven by vengeance. Isabela Merced plays Dina, who will form a close bond with Ellie.

Other additions include Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, and Jeffrey Wright.

But the most talked-about casting is Catherine O’Hara, who will appear in a special role as Joel’s therapist.

HBO Max has confirmed a third season, though no details have been revealed yet.

This news follows the first season’s record-breaking success, with 8.2 million viewers tuning in for the finale alone, according to Nielsen and Warner.

It was also the most-watched series in 2023 across Europe and Latin America on HBO Max. Now, the story aims to outdo itself.

The Last Of Us hopes to replicate the success of its debut, which swept the Emmys and was praised by critics and fans alike. All signs point to this second season being just as powerful—if not more.
