Colombian singer Zair Guette, 25, was brutally murdered while traveling to a concert.

His body was found on Friday in a grassy field in Ginebra, a rural town about 30 miles from Cali.

Authorities reported that Guette was found with a gunshot wound, his hands tied, and a gag in his mouth.

Alongside him, his manager, Teddy Guevara, 35, was also discovered, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a zip tie around his neck.

Guevara, a father of two children, was rushed to a hospital but sadly passed away on Saturday morning.

Before dying, he managed to tell police that they had been intercepted by several men, taken to an undisclosed location, and tortured.

Zair Guette, originally from Barranquilla, gained recognition after competing on the Colombian version of The X Factor and appearing in other music shows like A Otro Nivel and Yo Me Llamo.

His talent led him to tour in Spain and Italy, but his largest fan base was in Colombia.

Recent reports indicate that Zair Guette’s name appeared on a flyer distributed in Barranquilla weeks ago.

It listed 25 targets of a gang seeking revenge for the 2023 massacre of Rafael Vega and his sons, Ray and Ronald Vega Daza, members of the Vega Daza criminal group.

The document suggested that Guette’s music career had been funded by Jorge «Castor» Collazos, leader of the rival gang Los Costeños, who allegedly ordered the elimination of the Vega Daza clan.

Fellow singer Engell Melody revealed on social media that Zair Guette had received threats in Barranquilla, potentially linking them to his tragic murder.

«He had already spoken to those people; they left him completely alone,» she wrote.

Authorities continue investigating the crime in search of the perpetrators, according to the Daily Mail.
